The Open Diagnostic Framework (ODF) is a development environment for ODX / OTX-based applications in the field of vehicle diagnostics (called OTX Suite). It supports the user in the following main tasks:

• Specification,
• Realization,
• Docu­men­ta­tion,
• Test and
• Running OTX sequences.

The target group covers the whole diagnostic process from development to production to service.

Due to the practice partly heterogeneous landscapes in the various fields and the resulting different perspectives and requirements for an authoring environment was laid back in the conceptualisation of special importance to the following design features:

• Openness
• Adap­tier­bar­keit
• Extensibility

It should be ensured that user adjustments or enhancements quickly and with little effort by emotive or can be implemented by the user.
