The Open Diagnostic Framework is a Licensing system equipped. The system provides an optimum balance of security and user convenience, it is adaptable to different Bedürnisse and it offers a high degree of transparency for the customer.

Licensing - Why?

Software is the intellectual property of the person or company that created them. Intellectual property is the Copyright protected by law. For the legal use of software is the issue of a Right to use necessary by the author. This is done in the form of a license. For each program that is used, you need a license. Construction

The licensing system is Web-based. That is, the licensing data residing on a Web server, the so-called License Server. The ODF is combined at the following times with the licensing server:

• To Activation,
• to Deactivation or
• the first start of the development or runtime environment per day (License check).

Please note that theLicense check a few seconds to complete and can be executed only if the existing Internet connection.

When querying license-relevant information is exchanged, see Transferred license information. The amount of information depends on the type of license purchased, and the program mode.

There are the following two program modes:

1. Design time, Oa Design Time

   Working with ODF in the development environment, for example, to develop a diagnostic application.

2. Time, Oa Runtime

   Use of ODF runtime environment, for example, to run an application created with the ODF diagnosis.

For the design time, you need a Development License and for the duration of one Run-time license.

Development License

The development license is required for working with the ODF as a development environment. Without activated Development license is not the ODF and running!

Please note that required for a license upgrade if reactivation is. The symptom is that you have been sent a new license ID.

A development license is activated on one computer as many times (for example due to a change in the hard disk) or disabled (for example, to transfer the license to another computer). Should the license be used on more than one computer, but a further development license is required, see Contract terms for the provision and maintenance of standard software.

Within the development version we distinguish three types of licenses:

1. Evaluierungsversion

   • An evaluation version is limited to 30 days run-time Full Version
   • An evaluation version can be converted into a full version
   • With an evaluation version generated run-time versions at the start of a process represents a dialog box that must be clicked away.

2. Full Version

   • A full version is in the relevant license scope (Edition) indefinite run
   • A full version can be upgraded within the various editions
   • With a full version generated run-time versions are no restrictions unlimited run.

3. Leasing version

   • A rental license is a temporary full version
   • A leasing queries the license check the license server if the license is still valid for the next month. For validity, the internal license expiration date on the last day of next month is set. Until then, the license will run with no Internet connection. The license server is set to a fixed expiration date, the internal expiration date is set to this value. The license expiration date is after this no longer operable. This is true even if the expiration date is in the past.
   • A rental license should therefore at least once per month to be connected to the Internet.
   • 15 days before the expiration date of the internal leasing you will be informed becomes shorter period than the expiration of the license. Run-time license

The run-time license is required for working with the ODF runtime environment. A run-time license will not be activatedThem with the necessary system requirements always run. The license restricts a runtime version not occur. There is no license validation.

Please note that the runtime version, also without a license but our validation Terms and Conditions - Contract terms for the provision and maintenance of standard software incurred for that subject and a runtime version of the ODF and possibly the diagnosis runtime system license fees, see price list. Due to the demand for high availability of production was decided not to validate the run-time license.

Activation

A development license is generated by emotive and must be enabled on the target computer. This is for example in an evaluation version, a replacement or an upgrade of the case. The user receives this e-mail the License code. The license code is made up of License ID (Left panel) and the Password (Right panel). The license ID and password the license clearly describes the customer.

The License ID is public and can be passed, the Password is secret and must not be passed.

Perform these steps in the activation data. It is assumed that the ODF is already installed on the target machine, see Installation.

3. In the first box, your License ID and in the second field you Password one. This data has been sent to you in advance by e-mail.

4. If you use the computer connected to the Internet are operated, the Activate Now button. The activation process may take some time. Upon successful activation, the license window disappears and the current license data appears in the About box.

   If you use the computer not connected to the Internet are clear the corresponding checkbox and press the Select button then. It will open another window that takes you through the manual activation.

5. Activation is completed

Deactivation

An enabled development license can be disabled on the target machine. It can give the following reasons for deactivation:

• Transfer the license to another computer

  This license must be on the old machine off and turn on the new ones, see Activation.

• Return the license

  This is the case for license upgrades when necessary or evaluation versions, which are not converted to a full version.

For the deactivation of the License ID and Password is necessary. Follow through with these data, the deactivation of the following steps:

1. Star­ten of ODF

2. Go to the tab of the Ribbon "File"And click"License ...". This will open the licensing window

3. In the first box, your License ID and one in the second field you Password one (the data was sent to you in advance by e-mail)

4. If you use the computer connected to the Internet are operated, Clear now button. The deactivation process may take some time. If successful, the license deactivation window disappears and the current license data appears in the About box.

   If you use the computer not connected to the Internet are clear the corresponding checkbox and press the button then disable. It will open another window that takes you through the manual deactivation. You will end up with a verification code, you send us to verify that you have disabled the license on your computer.

   The way to disable Internet connection without the verification code should necessarily carefully preserved be! Because without that the deactivation process can not be completed and thus no re-activation would be possible. If the verification code you should be lost, you can perform the deactivation process again to get a new verification code.

5. Complete deactivation

Transferred license information

For licensing, some data is exchanged with the licensing server. This Privacy Policy is no relevant information is transmitted. Subsequently, all data transmitted will be described:
